Why do cats show their belly?

Unlike dogs, when a cat shows its belly to you, it doesn’t want belly rubs. A cat’s belly is its most vulnerable and delicate part, so showing it is a sign of trust. That doesn’t automatically mean they want you to touch it – you’ll notice that they might just scratch you when you try!
